Wace

Wace, Master (1120-80), trouvere (often without any authority called "Robert Wace"). Born in Jersey, he was the father of two metrical chronicles, Le Roman du Brut, apparently a paraphrase of Geoffrey of Monmouth's history, and Le Roman de Rou, which records the fortunes of the Norman dukes down to 1106.
