Scrivener

Scrivener, REV. FREDERICK HENRY AMBROSE, LL.D., D.C.L. (b. 1813), Biblical scholar, was born at Bermondsey, and graduated at Cambridge. He studied the Scriptures, and made himself a great authority on the New Testament. He was appointed in 1870,as one of its revisers, and in 1872 was granted a Civil List pension for his great services to Biblical criticism. He published some valuable critical editions of the Gospels in Latin and Greek. He died in 1891.
