Revere

Revere, Paul (1735-1818), American patriot and engraver, was of Huguenot family and born at Boston, Massachusetts. His father, a goldsmith, taught him his art, and he won a reputation for his engravings on plate. He was strongly opposed to the British connection, and issued clever prints, engraved by himself, against it. He took a prominent part in the war, and afterwards returned to business, making a large fortune by his mechanical inventions and artistic work.
