Milo

Milo, a famous athlete, born at Crotona, in Magna Graecia, lived towards the close of the 6th century B.C. He was several times crowned for victories in wrestling at the Olympic and Pythian games, and performed many marvellous feats. In 511 B.C. he led an expedition against the Sybarites.

Whilst he was endeavouring to rend asunder a tree, his hand became caught in the fissure, and he was torn to pieces by wolves.
