Manu

Manu (" Thinking Being"), the traditional author of the great sacred book of the ancient Hindus and of an ancient work on Vedie rites. In Hindu mythology there are a succession of Manus, each of whom created the world anew. The law book contains the whole duty of man in all his relations in 12 books. The date of its compilation is now placed between the 2nd century B.C. and the 2nd century of the Christian era. The first English translation was made by Sir William Jones.
