Liddell Henry George

Liddell, Henry George (b. 1811), the Greek lexicographer, was educated at Charterhouse and Christ Church, Oxford. In 1833 he took a first class both in classics and mathematics, and in 1845 was made Professor of Moral Philosophy. From 1846 to 1855 he was headmaster of Westminster, and from 1855 to 1892 Dean of Christ Church.
