Hecuba

Hecuba (Heka.be), daughter of Dymas, and second wife of Priam, King of Troy. In the tragedy of Euripides which bears her name, Hecuba was carried away as a slave by the Greeks to Chersonesus, where her daughter Polyxena was sacrificed before her eyes, and she tore out the eyes of Polymestor, who had murdered her son Polydorus. Another account makes her leap in despair into the Hellespont. Ovid describes her as being metamorphosed into a dog, which went about Thrace howling.
