Finch Heneage

Finch, Heneage (1621-1682), was born in Kent, and educated at Westminster and Christ Church. He was called to the bar in 1645, and after the Restoration was appointed Solicitor-General, in which office he took part in the trial of the regicides. In 1670 he became Attorney-General, and in 1675 Lord Chancellor, and was made Earl of Nottingham. He seems to have been a good orator, and a sound and upright lawyer.
