Ferishtah

Ferishtah, a Persian writer, who was born near the Caspian Sea towards the end of the 16th century. At the age of 12 he went with his father, who was appointed tutor to an Indian prince, to India. In 1589 he began his valuable work, A History of the Mohammedan Power in India, the materials for which he showed much patience and diligence in collecting. A good translation of this was published in London in 1829, as well as an earlier one at Bombay in 1831.
