Dorachos

Dorachos, one of the civilised nations of Central America, who, since the Spanish conquest, have almost entirely disappeared, though a small Doracho tribe still survives about lat. 9° N.on the Pacific coast. They were the dominant people in Veraguas, south of Costa Rica, and tothem are attributed the inscriptions, tombs, and other monuments scattered over the western districts of the Panama Isthmus. Of the Dorachos themselves nothing is known beyond what can be conjectured from these remains, which represent a civilisation quite distinct from that of the Northern Aztecs and Mayas.
