Dauri

Dauri (Daucheri, Tagura), a Manchu people formerly occupying the region from them still known by the name of Dauria; driven thence by the Tunguses, farther east to the valley of the river Nun, where they are now settled, and largely assimilated, in dress, customs, and religion, to the Chinese. They are a fine race, tall, symmetrical, and robust, occupied exclusively with agriculture. Though nominally Buddhists, some still practise Shamanistic rites.
