Cyanates

Cyanates are compounds derived from cyanic acid, HCNO, by replacement of the hydrogen by some other element or group of elements. The isocyanates form a series of compounds of the same composition, but differing in constitution. Both classes of substances are of considerable chemical, though of little general, interest and importance.
