Birdshead Processes

Bird's-head Processes are certain individuals in a Bryozoan colony, which are modified into the shape of birds' heads, and which are used as prehensile organs. They are technically termed aviculariae. See also "pedicellariae," similar structures in the Sea-urchins and Starfish.
