Binomial Theorem

Binomial Theorem, a famous theorem in Algebra, which gives any power of an expression of two terms in the form of a series. Thus the fifth power of the expression (a + b) may be expanded to a series of six terms. Newton proved the theorem to be generally true, for powers fractional and negative, but it should be clearly understood that there are cases where it fails, as for instance in the expansion (1 - x) - l where x is any number greater than unity. The Binomial Theorem is only a special case of the much more general Taylor's Theorem of the higher calculus.
