Ambergris

Ambergris, a waxy substance found near the coast in tropical seas, and probably derived from the intestines of the spermaceti whale. S.G. .8 to .9; M.P. 62° C.; soluble in ether and essential oils, also partially soluble in alcohol. Ambergris is valued for its perfume.
